Oyo kidnap: Family regains freedom after Sunday Igboho’s ultimatum

Residents of Igboho, Oorelope Local Government Area of Oyo State, have celebrated the reported release of a family that was allegedly abducted by kidnappers in the community. The victims, said to include a pregnant woman, her children and a sibling, were reportedly freed after Yoruba Nation activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, issued a two-hour ultimatum over their continued captivity. Videos circulating on social media showed residents gathered in large numbers, singing and dancing as news of the family’s return spread through the town. Benue Youths Rescue Kidnapped Victims, Detain Suspects in Community Operation

A swift community-led response in Benue State has led to the rescue of several kidnapped victims and the arrest of three suspected abductors along a rural road in Okpokwu Local Government Area. A community-led rescue effort by youths in Ugbokolo, Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State, reportedly led to the rescue of several kidn@pped victims and the arrest of three suspected kidn@ppers. According to local sources, the victims were abducted on Tuesday along the Ugbokolo–Aokpe Road, a route frequently used by residents and travellers within the area. Following news of the incident, youths from the community reportedly mobilised and launched a search operation aimed at locating the victims and their captors. The effort resulted in the successful rescue of the abducted persons and the apprehension of three individuals suspected of involvement in the crime. One relative of a victim alleged that the suspects were of Fulani origin. The identities of the rescued victims and arrested suspects were not immediately disclosed. The development highlights ongoing security concerns along rural roads in Benue State and underscores the growing role of community participation in local security efforts.
