Oyo kidnap: Family regains freedom after Sunday Igboho’s ultimatum

The victims, said to include a pregnant woman, her children and a sibling, were reportedly freed after Yoruba Nation activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, issued a two-hour ultimatum over their continued captivity. Videos circulating on social media showed residents gathered in large numbers, singing and dancing as news of the family’s return spread through the town. ENUGU, NIGERIA — A group of women in Elugwu Akwu community, Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State, have staged a protest against the growing presence of alleged sex workers in their area, accusing them of contributing to family instability and social problems within the community. The women, who took to the streets carrying placards and chanting solidarity songs, expressed concerns that the activities of the sex workers were negatively affecting marriages and influencing young men in the community. According to the protesters, several married men and youths have become increasingly involved with the women, leading to disputes in homes and strained family relationships. The demonstrators claimed that many husbands now spend significant amounts of time and money on the alleged sex workers, leaving their families neglected.
